What was business like before digitalization?
There was classical marketing back then. Companies and customers had the opportunity to see and show products and services by visiting each other.
In trade, promotions were made through printed materials (catalogues, brochures, etc.) and concluded with hot sales. Companies that wanted to become a brand were creating marketing budgets, which was quite costly. Competition was less, we were deciding to buy products and services by experiencing few options because there were not many companies or because they were not known.
Many companies were making their sales very easily without the need for marketing. His product and service was already being sold, he was not willing to sell more products and services by investing in extra branding. Here, the vision of company managers comes into play, some of them make more money; while others wanted to create more employment and create value, others were content with blunting their skills in order not to disturb their comfort.
What has digitization changed in the economy?
Digital marketing is not a type of marketing that takes a lot of time and requires high investments like classical marketing. You can reach your customer base with more reasonable budgets and promote and sell your products and services. The important thing here is; Your ads are well planned and continuous.
Digital advertisements that provide visual and slogan integrity specially prepared for your product and service can lead your company to success even in a short time. I can relate this issue as follows: The biggest weapon of SMEs against big brands is digitalization. Now, thanks to digital marketing, we are all in equal positions.
When access to digital marketing was easy and cheap, everyone started to sell their products and services to many corners of the world by developing or buying and selling products and services in their own way. As such, competition increased, and when competition increased, profit margins decreased. In short, everyone started to hold a corner of the trade now. Digital marketing has certainly brought great added value and broad participation in the economy.
COVID-19 is transforming commerce as well as every aspect of life.
What does digitalization affect in today's conditions?
Before the COVID-19 process, many of our brands were digital. Since we serve corporate companies, all of them had at least one web page. I liken websites to digital offices. Digital shops where we can promote our products and services 24/7.
The COVID process has enabled us to use social media accounts more actively, and since we could not leave the house, we bought all our needs through e-commerce sites.
In this process, we made plans and prepared posts for the companies we provide brand consultancy to be more visible in the digital media. Also; We managed to get through this process in the lightest way with content that expresses and motivates its consumers. In addition, we prepared the strategies to be implemented during and after the COVID-19 process in the form of prescriptions and prepared them for the new process. As a team, we spent two months evaluating all opportunities. We have developed and updated ourselves and we think that we can come to our brands like medicine in the future.
5 years post-COVID-19: what will have changed due to digitalisation?
First of all, companies that have been digitized will survive, (technology)
There will be no need for a shop or an office to start a business, (lack of space)
You will not have to spend energy to calculate the entry and exit times of the personnel, (timelessness)
Qualified and technological products will be preferred more (niche products and services)
Now it will not be enough to say that I am looking for a job, that I have graduated from a department at the university, the employer will expect the person to be employed to have knowledge in more than one field. (qualified information)
The COVID-19 process has been an important process for many entrepreneurs to discover and absorb e-commerce. Due to the intense use of this system by everyone, competition will increase and profit margins will decrease a lot, (a lot of competition)
Companies that take continuous action according to opportunities will survive. (entrepreneurship)
